Micro Wedding or Minimony
In the current state of all things Covid-19, every aspect of our lives have been forced to adjust. Getting married is no different. But the great news is (*cue the confetti*)…micro weddings and minimonies have come along, in all their trendy glory, to save the day. But what exactly is a Micro Wedding or Minimony, and are either right for you to consider?
A Micro Wedding is literally a small wedding, a wedding with under 50 guests. Its still everything you love about traditional weddings, just with smaller guest lists and usually smaller budgets (bonus!). They can sometimes be followed by a small and intimate reception or dinner.
Similarly, a Minimony is a mini-ceremony or a small group of usually under 10 guests. Its more like an elopement (which now this is getting ridiculous, we are just splitting hairs). An elopement is considered to focus more on the couple and their union as a married couple and less on the guests/ceremony/environment/extras. So if an Elopement and a Micro Wedding had a baby, that would be a Minimony. Want to have your sister officiant the wedding? Want to walk out to a Post Malone song? The Minimony is an intimate wedding with a ceremony the way you want it.
Also, an unexpected bonus of both micro-weddings and minimonies is that they are easy to plan and enjoy. When you are spending five figures, you want to sit in every minute of that space you can milk and oversee every detail meticulously. It can be thrilling and stressful. And usually that means a very long and consuming wedding day for both you and your guests. These smaller scale weddings are simple, inexpensive, and quick.
And what is “inexpensive”? Considering the price tag of some weddings, if you’re out under $10K you have succeeded. However, here at Love Story Wedding Chapel, we know every love story deserves a wedding day to celebrate for all budgets. Thats why we have full scale Micro Weddings and Minimonies starting at just $125
