Asking the Right Questions of your Chapel
Getting married is a huge milestone. Whether its a simple elopement or all out event (and whether you’ve been married before or not), its one of the most important and memorable days of your lifetime. Everyone could use a cheat sheet in how to approach the hidden questions to ask of your wedding chapel. And lucky for you, we have it here!
Do you have a Surcharge?
-Did you know many Las Vegas chapels have an additional surcharge on top of your total price (sometimes as much as 20 or 30%!). Thats a surprise fee most couples do not expect and get tricked into paying after having extensively planned with their venue.
What is your cancellation process?
-Unexpected events could cause you to have to reschedule or cancel your wedding day. And the only way to make a terrible situation worse is to have to pay MORE money or not receive any portion of a refund.
What is my Wedding Day timeline of events?
-Many Las Vegas chapels make you arrive an hour or more before your scheduled ceremony and wait. Then they very quickly perform your ceremony and usher your guests out as quickly as they pushed them in.
How much are additional photos?
-A huge money maker for other chapels, they take a multitude of photos then provide the candid/ceremony ones as your “included photos” forcing you to purchase the remainder of the posed ones. And if you don’t purchase them or cannot afford them, they simply delete these beautiful memories.
Can I bring my own _____?
-Fill in the blank, my own bouquet, my own officiant, my own photographer etc. Yes, it makes no sense but many chapels charge YOU to bring your own goods.
Do you offer personalized playlists and how much extra does it cost?
-Its such a fun way to personalize your Wedding Day! Choosing your own style and music to walk down the aisle and even to jam out to afterwards.
Is Livestream Video available and how much extra does it cost?
-We are living in a digital age and its such a fantastic way to have friends and family join you in celebrating your Wedding Day, no matter where they are in the world.
Do you allow Cell phones/Cameras?
-Seems strange to think its not allowed in this day and age, but most chapels don’t want your guests using cell phones or cameras as it interferes with their ability to sell you photos after the ceremony.
