Where Can You Get Married at Valley of Fire? (2026 Wedding Permit Guide)

If you’ve fallen in love with the breathtaking red rock landscapes of Valley of Fire State Park, you’re not alone. Recognized as Nevada’s First State Park, It’s one of the most spectacular places in Nevada to exchange your vows.

However, there’s one thing many couples don’t realize until they begin planning:

Valley of Fire has very specific rules about where weddings and wedding photography are allowed.

As a permitted wedding company with the required insurance to perform ceremonies inside Valley of Fire State Park, we help couples navigate these regulations so they can focus on enjoying their wedding day.

Here’s what you should know before planning your Valley of Fire wedding.

Valley of Fire Wedding Ceremonies Require a Permit

Unlike many public parks, you can’t simply arrive and hold a wedding ceremony anywhere inside Valley of Fire.

Nevada State Parks requires a wedding permit for ceremonies, and commercial wedding vendors (including photographers and officiants) must also meet the park’s requirements.

Working with an experienced wedding team helps ensure every requirement is handled properly before your wedding day.

Where Are Weddings Allowed?

Currently, weddings are permitted in designated ceremony locations within Valley of Fire State Park.

These include:

Seven Sisters

Seven Sisters is one of Valley of Fire’s official wedding ceremony locations.

Surrounded by towering red sandstone formations and wide-open desert views, it offers an incredible backdrop while allowing couples to comply with park regulations.

It’s one of our favorite locations because it captures everything couples imagine when they think of a Valley of Fire wedding.

Visitor Center Area

The Visitor Center wedding location provides another approved ceremony setting with beautiful desert scenery and easy accessibility.

It’s an excellent option for couples who want dramatic landscapes. Another great thing about the Visitors Center area is that there are some set stone benches there that lead to a natural concave that makes a beautiful altar landing.

The current accessibility to the Visitors Center is limited, as there is a bit of a walk to get to the ceremony site. This location is not suggested for small children or anyone with mobility issues.

Can We Take Wedding Photos Throughout the Park?

This is probably the question we’re asked most often.

The answer is no.

Valley of Fire has strict regulations regarding commercial wedding photography.

When you’re getting married under a wedding permit, photography is generally limited to your permitted ceremony location rather than throughout the park.

While it may be tempting to recreate photos you’ve seen online, following the park’s rules helps protect this incredible landscape and ensures future couples can continue getting married here.

Why These Rules Matter

Valley of Fire is Nevada’s oldest state park and one of its most treasured natural landscapes.

The permit system helps:

  • Protect fragile desert environments.

  • Preserve historic and cultural resources.

  • Manage visitor safety.

  • Reduce congestion.

  • Keep the park beautiful for future generations.

Although the rules are strict, the scenery at the approved ceremony sites is so stunning that couples still leave with incredible wedding galleries.

The reality is quite the opposite.

The Seven Sisters ceremony area offers:

  • Stunning red sandstone formations.

  • Wide desert skies.

  • Beautiful natural textures.

  • Gorgeous golden-hour light.

  • Plenty of space for intimate ceremonies.
